Just a few reasons why Adobe Flash sucks
By nick | Thoughts, Uncategorized20 Mar 2010
Recently I’ve been taking more and more of a dislike to Adobe’s Flash. I keep wondering why in this day, the age of “web 2.5″ we’re still using this nasty software. There are many reasons to hate flash and perhaps a couple to like it a little but don’t get too excited.
Last month as rumours had suggested, Apple announced their new tablet called the Ipad. Just as with their IPhone the Ipad does not and will not support Adobe Flash, you’ll find what Steve Jobs has to say about Adobe’s programmers with a Google Search.
Using a Netbook with little ram or perhaps a slow processor? Good luck watching any YouTube HD or even HQ quality video.
Like to run anything even remotely cpu intensive whilst watching a Flash video? Good luck.
Fed up of those awesome browser crashes and lock ups? Think we’re seeing a pattern here.
Although Adobe’s Flash was a great product that transformed the remains of the 90′s brightly coloured, flashing web sites into something that offered much more entertainment to users and flexibility to developers, Flash has seen its best days.
With HTML5 slowly rolling in and offering a solution for website video, games and applications I think we’ll finally have a chance to rid ourselves of this buggy software. We’ll no longer have to throw our money at licenses, suffer no or little support on alternative platforms and finally be able to move closer to an open source and free Internet.
When I in the beginning made a comment at http://www.elfnet.org/2010/03/20/just-a-few-reasons-why-adobe-flash-sucks I clicked on the – Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and today each and every time a feedback is added on Just a few reasons why Adobe Flash sucks | ElfNet.org web page, I receive a number of email messages using the related remark. Possibly there is any way it is possible to eliminate me from that services? Thankyou!
I have no idea however I’ll look into it for you! This site uses wordpress so there must be a database table around there somewhere. Is it your 361xxx@gmail.com account that’s getting emailed?
